Subject: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Cohesion Funds allocated to EU island regions and ‘Objective 1’ NUTS 2 regions

Question(s)

Can the Commission say what was the amount of ERDF and Cohesion Funds allocated per 1 000 inhabitants each year from 2004 to 2013
1. to each of the EU island regions at NUTS 2 and NUTS 3 levels; and
2. all ‘Objective 1’ NUTS 2 regions as a whole?

Answer given by Ms Creţu on behalf of the Commission (22.5.2015)

1. The Commission does not have the information requested by the Honourable Member.

2. The following amounts of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Cohesion Fund support were allocated to Objective 1 regions (2004-2006, including Phasing-out regions) and to Convergence Regions (2007-2013, including phasing-out regions) (commitments per year, in EUR/1000 inhabitants). Due to the fact that Cohesion Fund interventions can cover multiple regions, it should be noted that these amounts are estimates.

L-ammonti li ġejjin tal-Fond Ewropew tal-Iżvilupp Reġjonali (FEŻR) u l-Fond ta’ Koeżjoni għas-sostenn ġew allokati għal reġjuni tal-Objettiv 1 (2004-2006, inklużi r-reġjuni fi tranżizzjoni) u għal Reġjuni ta’ Konverġenza (2007-2013, inklużi reġjuni fi tranżizzjoni) (impenji kull sena, f’EUR/1 000 abitant). Minħabba li l-interventi tal-Fond ta’ Koeżjoni jistgħu’ jkopru diversi reġjuni, wieħed irid jagħraf li dawn l-ammonti huma stimi.
