Former Prime Minister and MEP Alfred Sant visited the Christmas village at Għajnsielem, Gozo where he was toured around by Frans Cauchi, Għajnsielem mayor, Mr. Frans Ciangura and Luigi Landi, Mayor of Tolfo which for the last years has been reciprocating cultural initiatives with the village of Għajnsielem. Dr. Sant lauded these initiatives which attracted the attention of thousands of Maltese and foreign visitors who crossed over from Malta to Gozo during the Xmas period to admire the artistic and technical skills of Gozitans who set up these cribs all over the island. Dr. Sant toured other cribs around Gozo, organised by individual families and societies in Victoria, Nadur, Xewkija and Xagħra.
