Subject: Projects under the European Fund for Strategic Investments

The most recent ‘State of play’ regarding the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) shows that 42 projects have been approved under ‘Infrastructure and innovation’, and 84 projects have been signed under ‘SME financing agreements’. The Commission is asked to provide the following information on each project:
—details of the project proposals which have been approved and signed;
—the countries of operation for which those projects have been approved;
—the amount of EU funding under EFSI which has been approved for each project.

As of March 2016 (1), 54 projects have been approved by the European Investment Bank (EIB) Board of Directors for financing amounting to EUR 7.2 billion under the infrastructure and innovation window of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). Some of these EIB-approved projects are still under assessment by the Commission to grant the EU guarantee coverage under the transitional rules of Regulation (EU) 2015/1017 (2).

As regards the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) window, as of March 2016, over 150 operations have been approved by the European Investment Fund for financing amounting to EUR 3.4 billion under the SME window of the EFSI.

As of March 2016, the total expected investment triggered by the EIB-Group approved projects and operations amounts to EUR 76.1 billion across 22 Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

Is-“sitwazzjoni attwali” l-aktar reċenti dwar il-Fond Ewropew għall-Investimenti Strateġiċi (FEIS) turi li 42 proġett ġew approvati taħt “Infrastruttura u innovazzjoni”, u 84 proġett ġew iffirmati taħt “ftehimiet ta’ finanzjament tal-SMEs”. Il-Kummissjoni hija mitluba tipprovdi t-tagħrif li ġej dwar kull proġett:
—dettalji tal-proposti għal proġetti li ġew approvati u ffirmati;
—il-pajjiżi ta’ operazzjoni li għalihom ġew approvati dawn il-proġetti;
—l-ammont ta’ finanzjament tal-UE taħt il-FEIS li ġie approvat għal kull proġett.

Sa Marzu 2016 (1), ġew approvati 54 proġett mill-Bord tad-Diretturi tal-Bank Ewropew tal-Investiment (BEI) għal finanzjament li jammonta għal EUR 7,2 biljun fl-ambitu tat-tieqa għall-infrastruttura u l-innovazzjoni tal-Fond Ewropew għall-Investimenti Strateġiċi (FEIS). Xi wħud minn dawn il-proġetti approvati mill-BEI għadhom qed jiġu vvalutati mill-Kummissjoni biex jagħtu l-kopertura tal-garanzija tal-UE skont ir-regoli tranżizzjonali tar-Regolament (UE) 2015/2017 (2).

Fir-rigward tat-tieqa għall-Intrapriżi Żgħar u ta’ Daqs Medju (SME), minn Marzu 2016, ġew approvati aktar minn 150 operazzjoni mill-Fond Ewropew tal-Investiment għal finanzjament li jammonta għal EUR 3,4 biljun, fl-ambitu tat-tieqa għall-SMEs tal-FEIS.

Minn Marzu 2016, it-total tal-investiment mistenni li ġie skattat mill-proġetti u operazzjonijiet approvati mill-Grupp BEI jammonta għal EUR 76,1 biljun fit-22 Stat Membru: l-Awstrija, il-Belġju, il-Bulgarija, il-Kroazja, ir-Repubblika Ċeka, id-Danimarka, l-Estonja, il-Finlandja, Franza, il-Ġermanja, l-Ungerija, l-Irlanda, l-Italja, il-Lussemburgu, in-Netherlands, il-Polonja, il-Portugall, is-Slovakkja, is-Slovenja, Spanja, l-Iżvezja u r-Renju Unit.
