Subject: Follow-up on PQ E-001390-15 on Cyprus Airways

Question(s)

In respect to the reply provided by Ms Vestager on behalf of the Commission for Parliamentary question ‘E-001390-15′ in which it is being stated that Cyprus Airways’ share of air traffic to/from Cyprus has been relatively limited in recent years:

• Can the Commission specify which of Cyprus Airways flights have been axed due to the Commission-allowed restructuring programme?
• Can the Commission provide information on how the said route flights, as well as those left vacant following the airline’s closure, have been taken over by an alternative airline?
• Finally, can the Commission provide information on how, and if, it will allow State/EU intervention in the cases where no airline has been interested in an airline route left vacant by Cyprus Airways?
