Subject: EU initiatives specifically dedicated to islands
Article 174 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (ex Article 158 TEC) recognises the special nature of island territories and the need to work towards reducing disparities in these territories.
In this regard,
– Can the European Commission provide a list of EU initiatives that the Commission has implemented, which have been specifically dedicated to EU islands since 2002?
– Where relevant, can the European Commission outline the main results achieved for the said initiatives?
– Where relevant, can the European Commission outline the reasons where such initiatives where not continued?
